Ayush Nankani, M.S., is a Research Engineer at Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation who is working on the design and development of MRI-compatible robots used for various medical interventions. Before joining the Children’s National, Ayush was a researcher at the University of Maryland, College Park where he pursued his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering. There he worked with a group of engineers under principal investigator Dr. Elisabeth Smela to develop a Piezoresistive Tactile Sensor based on Electrical Impedance Tomography which could be used for Breast Cancer Detection.
